Whilst COVID-19 has presented an ever-evolving environment, our commitment to working with our community to deliver quality and caring service with compassion and create and maintain enduring and accessible remembrance into perpetuity remains firm.

We are working with the latest advice from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to adapt our services and procedures to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees, partners, and the community we serve.

This page has important information to help you understand what these restrictions mean when using our services.

This information is current at time of publishing. Due to the rapidly changing environment restrictions may change. Please call us or visit coronavirus.vic.gov.au to ensure the most up to date information.

Our Elaine McNamara Chapel and cemetery sites are open for funerals in adherence to restrictions, the following conditions of entry apply to every RPCV building:

QR Code sign in upon entry through the Service Victoria QR code app and you will also be required to show your vaccination status..
Alternatively, for those who do not have a smartphone able to do this, visitors must sign in on a physical register, providing their full name and phone number.

You must not be displaying any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with those who have in the last 14 days.

You must not visit if you are required to be in isolation or quarantine.

Our function space at Eaglehawk is not currently available for hire.

Our thoughts are with our community and with those who are experiencing the pain of loss when physical connection to others and presence in honouring loved ones has been difficult and restricted.

We are committed to delivering quality and caring service throughout these unprecedented times and adapting our operations to assist families in celebrating the lives of and remembering their loved ones.

How many attendees can funerals have?

If everyone present is fully vaccinated, funerals can be conducted with no limits on density or attendance.

If vaccination status isn’t being checked, funerals are restricted to one person per 4 sqm up to a maximum of 50 people per facility. The cap at funerals doesn’t include those required to conduct the funeral.

Are visitors required to sign in using a QR code?

Yes. As an important way to facilitate contact tracing, all visitors are required to sign in using a QR code. This includes funeral directors and their staff and contractors.

Employees of RPCV are the only individuals currently not required to sign in using a QR code.

The Victorian Government now requires the Service Vic QR code app to be used to scan the QR code. Other QR code scanners are not permitted.

This means that when coming on-site to any RPCV indoor space, visitors will need to use their mobile phone to register their attendance by scanning the provided QR code using the Service Vic QR code app, providing their name and phone number.

A separate QR code applies for each building.

The purpose of collecting contact information is to assist the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) with contact tracing in the event an attendee or employee member is thought to have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the time of attending our site.

If I am a Funeral Director or Contractor do I still need to sign in with a QR code?

Yes. When entering any building at RPCV you are required to sign in using a QR code.

Employees of RPCV are the only individuals currently not required to sign in using a QR code.

Funeral directors will need to sign in with a QR code when attending the Crematorium building for any reason including cremation deliveries and ashes collections.

Will I have to wear a face covering or mask?

Attendees at a funeral when the vaccination status of anyone is unknown are required to wear a mask, unless you have a lawful reason for not doing so.

For specific directives on face covering use, including exceptions, please refer to the DHHS website.

Can I visit a grave or memorial site?

There are no restrictions on reasons to leave home and graves and memorial sites can be visted by all Victorians.
